  • Lift one of your arms above your head and link hands with each other.
  • Use your hands to lean away from them as they lean away from you.
  • Pull their hand toward you as they continue to lean away.
  • Keep leaning away as they pull your hand away from you.

Reciprocal Lean: Isometric, Concentric, and Eccentric Contractions

Isometric Your arm is isometrically contracting as you and your partner lean away from each other.
Concentric Your arm is strengthening as you pull their arm toward you.
Eccentric Your arm is resistance stretching as they pull your arm away from you.
Reciprocal The same holds true for your tandem partner.
