I still haven't been to Sun Harvest. I'm a huge fan of Wheatsville. Whole Foods (www.wholefoods.com) is also great although knocked down a lot by many people as being too expensive, but it's really not too bad if you stay away from the prepared foods section.

I am a big fan of wheatsville and whole foods and of organics in general. However the organic movement has yet to overcome the serious problem of high prices. Sometimes I don't feel right eating organic grass fed beef when I know that a low income family of six can only afford to buy the cheap hormone pumped crap.

Change needs to happen at the legislative to revolutionize food production before I can appreciate organics guilt free.

I would also like to see lower prices on organic food, but I don't think that the legislature will ever revolutionize food production, nor do I think that they would do a good job at it even if they attempted to. I think that the first thing that needs to happen is education.

Organic food is nothing new. People have been eating organic food for most of history. Not too long ago, people began to become very distanced from how food gets from the earth to the dinner table. This would not have been to big of an issue if we had kept ourselves updated on the methods use to grow our food, but instead we took it for granted that it was all safe to eat. We lost interest in how the food was being cultivated and as a result the companies producing the food began to cut corners in order to generate the highest profit possible off of the food, even if it was at the cost of the consumer's health.

I would like all people and families to have easy access to organic grass fed beef, but what good would it do for the families if they didn't understand the difference between hormone loaded, pesticide/herbicide/insecticide grain fed beef versus organic grass fed? Instead, the family could be educated on what has happened to food production in the last 100 years and how most of the products sold in most supermarkets serve to degrade and not upgrade a person's health. Then, they could perhaps save money buy refusing to buy health degrading common products like coke and pepsi, potato chips, pasturized rBGH milk, sugar candy, etc. Perhaps after cutting out the health degrading products, the family would have more money to buy organic health upgrading products. The more people buying organic, the lower the prices.
