How much time? 3 Years, 11 Months ago
How much time does it take to get through all 17 stretches?
Can I do 8 stretches in the morning and 8 stretches in the afternoon?

It's possible to go through the energy series in 20 minutes. The energy series covers all 16 MMGs (Meridian Muscle Groups). I sometimes go through the energy series to clear my meridians and get a quick workout, but I usually prefer to stretch throughout the day.

So, after I've been sitting at my desk working on the computer for a while, I like to take a break and stretch out my hamstrings. Then, I might do a quad stretch and hip flexor stretch. As I'm walking through a door, many times I put my hands up on the door frame and push against the frame as I walk through to get a good Heart stretch. I love doing the Large Intestine and Small Intestine stretches while waiting in lines. If I need to clear my lungs and get oxygen, I'll take two minutes to bust out some Lung handstand pushups against a tree or a wall. Thymus stretches against the wall only take a minute and really release tension from my shoulders. If I'm low on energy, I'll do a few Spleen/Pancreas stretches.

So, I normally stretch throughout the day depending on what my body feels like doing. Sometimes I'll take two hours out of the day and have an intense stretching session where I work on only a few MMGs (Meridian Muscle Groups). For example, I'll do Stomach stretches followed by the balancing MMG Spleen/Pancreas followed by Lung stretches which is the completing MMG for Spleen followed by Large Intestine stretches which is the completing MMG for Stomach. Then, I will go back and forth, back and forth.

Your stretching practice doesn't have to be rigid and restricted to a time frame. I find that sometimes it's best to let my body decide when and how to stretch.

yes luther. i prefer to stretch on the areas where i need emotional/physical/spiritual/psychological healing.

and just do them. i think about 6-7 meridians are enough.
